Trichomoniasis

One of the most common STD around the world is the Trichomonas disease (also called "trich"). It is by a flagellar movement protozoa, Trichomonas vaginalis. Human beings are the only known host, this parasite.

Trichomonas vaginalis is pear-shaped, and the average diameter is about that of a white blood cell (9x7). Propagation of these parasites, every 8 to 12 hours, therefore, the infection spreads quickly, once the parasitic infection squamous epithelium lining the reproductive tract. During the incubation period ranging from 4-28 days, the infection is likely to continue for a long time women, but the extension to a maximum of 10 days in the male.

In most cases, the disease is through sexual intercourse trichomoniasis, from the vagina or penis through genital to genital contact, infected persons indulging in sexual activity with an infected partner. Transmission can also occur through fomites such as a swimsuit or towels.

In infected women, it causes severe itching or tingling in the genital area. This is accompanied by a yellow-green vaginal secretions, a feature of the smell of fish. In addition, women also experience pain during intercourse. Trichomonas infection in the male causes of the discharge from the penis or a burning sensation during urination or ejaculation.

Trichomonas disease is easily curable. In most cases, the virus infection, oral medication, usually is tinidazole or metronidazole for the treatment of trichomoniasis disease.
